A handheld piece is passed over the desired area, where the laser sends quick pulses of light and breaks down the pigment. The tattooed area then begins to heal and the pigments begins to fade. Several sessions may be needed.*

Most patients do not require any anesthesia. However, depending on the location of the tattoo and the pain threshold for the patient, we may elect to use some form of anesthesia (topical anesthesia cream or painkiller injections at the site of the procedure).*

Protective eye shields will be given to you to protect your eyes from the laser beams. We will then test your skin’s reaction to the laser to determine the most effective energy for treatment. Each pulse may feel like the snapping of a rubber band against the skin.*

There is minimal to no downtime, however you may experience some redness after your treatment. It is best to stay out of sunlight after treatment, we will give you detailed aftercare instructions.*
